dually approaching the Murchison Range, and late in the afternoon of the third day skirted its base, and, following up a valley leading into the hills, camped, just after sunset, by the side of a picturesque waterhole called Wiarminni. We were now, so to speak, in the very midst of Mungai — that is, spots once inhabited by the old ancestors, and now full of spirit children. These old ancestors showed a commendable fondness for walking about in a few picturesque spots that their country contained, and seem to have selected these rocky ranges as their central home.
